Wake-Up Call replacement
Here we go again--looking for a kcup replacement for those favorites I've developed! This time it is for Wake-Up Call. I like Dark Magic so now will see if it is a candidate for replacing my morning cup of Wake-Up Call I've gotten used to drinking!
What would you drink for a replacement? Georgia 1Quickcup ambassador

If you enjoy strong, bold coffee, you'll like this one. Perfect for the travel mug on my morning commute.

Dark Magic is by far my favorite!! Strong but not bitter. No odd after-taste like some of the African coffees. If you are looking to move into a wonferfully bold new coffee give Dark Magic a try. You'll Love It!!

I love this coffee. It is dark and rich by itself, not burned tasting. This coffee can stand up to cream. I use half and half with it and it is wonderful. I should have gotten two boxes.

Good, strong bold coffee. Very smoky, pleasantly bitter.

Please take into consideration that I am not a bold coffee fan. For me, this is too bitter and "hard" tasting. The aroma is better than the taste; being a rich and sort of syrupy fragrance. I cannot drink this one without some cream and a little sugar to take the edge off; and typically I don't sweeten my coffee at all. This one is just not for me - but my husband says it's "OK" - and he's a bold coffee drinker.

This is a great "wake up" cup of coffee for me! It is an extra bold, dark roast. It's color is black. Aroma is "WOW" - nice and strong coffee. A coworker said "Your coffee wakes ME up!" It is NOT bitter or smokey. It has a great mouth feel, and is full bodied. This coffee is a winner for me!! Barb 1 Quick Cup Ambassador

GM's Dark Magic Extra Bold Has a woodsy, tobacco like rich aroma. The appearance is a clear, rich dark brown. Dark Magic has a nice medium mouth feel. The taste is woodsy, a little floral with a rich tobacco finish. It has a nice balanced acidity. I expected a burnt finish but was pleasantly surprised that it didn't taste burnt. When my wife tasted it she said it tasted like the coffee her mom used to make when she was a kid, strong but not bitter. This would be specially good with a little cream and sugar. I would give this coffee a 4 out of 5.

My favorite flavor, hands down. Bold but not burned. Laughs at cream. Full bodied flavor with a smooth finish. I drink mine on the medium cup size with half and half.

Last night I went to the dark side and tried a K-Cup from Green Mountain Coffee called Dark Magic. I'm more of a medium or even a light roast drinker, but that wasn't going to stop me from giving this one a shot.
Syrupy, rich Indonesian beans, matched with coffees from Latin America. Rich aromatics and flavor qualities of espresso. Ideal with milk â divine with cream â its intensity is balanced by its complexity and subtle sweetness.
Description from 1QuickCup
From my past experiences with Extra Bold K-Cups, I wasnât sure if I was going to like this one, but right from the first sniff, I was taken back. Dark Magic actually had an aroma that reminded me of a good shot of espresso.
Dark Magic had a smooth, dry taste with a strong flavor and a serious darkness to it. Iâll admit that even the flavor had the essence of a good espresso.
Dark Magic surprised me. It really didnât sound like my kind of coffee, but it was very drinkable and ended up earning an above average score of 3.5 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee K-Cup scale. By no means was it espresso and I'm really not sure how one would make an espresso with a Keurig, but if you want something similar, check out Dark Magic.
