My favorite coffee was the Timothy's Sumatran Gold. I was upset when it was discontinued by Green Mountain. I promptly placed an order, trying to snag some boxes but to no avail.. That meant I had to try this one; I'm glad I did because it is as satifying as the Sumatran Gold. A sweet palate of brown sugar and spice notes gives me the body I look forward to in this big, bold K-cup coffee. The Sumatras became my favorite k-cup. I like the lack of acid which can bother the stomach. cccpines

Dark, bold, mildly bitter. Pleasant but generally unremarkable compared to so many others that are so good.

This is one of my favorite coffees. I love the strong, inviting aroma Its complexity. Its "feel" in my mouth. The dark color in the mug. The taste. It's Strong. Not Bitter. This is one of my go-to coffees. It's extra bold, so I can brew a bigger mug without sacrificing it's strength. I have enjoyed this coffee iced over the summer, as well as hot, year around! Today I tried the Green Mountain Sumatran Reserve Extra Bold K-Cup. My 1st impressions were of a rich, full bodied coffee with a nice sweetness and a slightly burnt, ashy after taste. The aroma was sweet, slightly burnt, pleasant smell that was a little Smokey with a hint of Cedar. The body is medium to heavy. Nothing thin about this one. The taste runs the gamut from sweet to burnt. It starts out with a pleasant sweetness the grabs the sides of the tongue with a slightly burnt, ashy taste and finishes with (as I've heard it described, (thanks Jason Coffee)) black pepper taste. I really enjoyed the initial flavor and mouth feel but I didn't care for the ashy after taste. If you like dark, deep flavor you will probably like this coffee. It has something for everyone. On a scale of 1-10 I would give this about a 6.

Overall Rating: 3.25 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs
The first challenger in today's battle is Sumatran Reserve from Green Mountain Coffee. It's a Fair Trade and Organic coffee, one of the handful that I've seen in K-Cup form.
Deep and deliciously dark, offering a sweet palate of brown sugar and spice notes. Look for lots of body in this big, bold K-cup coffee.
1QuickCup Description
My description would be slightly different. The Sumatran Reserve had a mild nutty aroma with hints of cinnamon and smoke. The taste was dark and on the verge of having a burnt taste.
It had the traditional Sumatran heavy body.
Overall, this coffee earned a 3.25 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee K-cup sale. It was drinkable, but nothing to write home about.
