Newman's Own Special Blend
This appropriately described blend of medium and dark roast coffees hit the spot this morning! It is *extra bold* which means more coffee in the kcup. But the combination of EB and the med/dark blend allowed it to stand up nicely to a 10 ounce cup of coffee this morning! Great aroma while brewing. It was smooth. No bitterness. Despite being a blend it seemed more "one note" to me rather than a full body. But a GREAT solid cup of coffee none the less. A good one to keep on the shelves!

change of pace
I enjoy this coffee more and more each time I drink it. With all the k-cup varieties, I was slow to appreciate this one. Now it is one I 'go to' when I want a good cup pf coffee! As a 1quickup ambassador, I recommend you try this one--for the first time or again (second chance). Georgia

Wanted something strong for a morning jolt so I brewed a quickcup of Newman's Own Extra Bold. On the Extra Bold side it probably hovers closer to the regular "Bold." It tasted more smooth than deep and rich. Not a bad thing, but just not what I was expecting. In fact I love smooth coffee and I think it's delicious. I do brew this coffee at 6 oz and I drink it black. I would prefer this for a mid-morning or afternoon coffee break. If I'm not worried about caffeine, I'd like it for an after dinner coffee as well. Just prefer something a bit stronger for my first cup of java in the A.M.

Solid cup of coffee with a hint of bitterness, and a bit of bitter aftertaste. Well balanced out with a touch of cream or milk though.

Ohh Mr. Newman, if only your salad dressings were as good as this coffee. Very good cup. Has a less smooth finish, but a good kick in the pants feel. An awesome wake-up coffee that loves a little cream and sugar.

This is a bold brew, and good with a little cremora to give it a dark caramel tone. Good morning cup of coffee to start the day right!

Overall Rating: 3 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs
First into the Keurig this week was Newman's Special Blend. Newman's describes it as a blend of medium-roasted Central American coffees and darker-roasted Indonesians is rich and robust, with ample body to stand up to all the cream and sugar that you might want to add to the party.
I was cool without adding any cream or sugar until I saw that it was an extra bold K-Cup. Me and extra bold K-cups have a long history of not getting along, but I was willing to give this once a fair chance.
Newman's Special Blend had a nutty aroma, but not too much else to the scent. It was pleasant, but not too exciting.
The taste was a distinctive charred, burn dark dark roast taste. It mellows out a tad bit as it cools down and a sweet, fruity flavor comes out of hiding.
Overall, this wasnât a horrible K-Cup, but it wouldn't be my first choice either. It earned a 3 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee K-Cup scale. If you like dark, dark K-Cups, you might want to see if you can find some of this coffee laying around somewhere before itâs all gone.
